Shell Lego Collectible Toy- A Gift from God to my son

Eighty-two more days and the Formula1 Grand Prix will be here in Singapore. September would be the month where Singapore will be hosting the 2015 Formula1 Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. And it is also during this time, Shell petrol stations will come out with a array of Lego collection toys to commemorate the Grand Prix. With posters and marketing campaigns, it is hard to miss the campaign that Shell is rolling out. My son would then be getting all excited, reminding me to pump the petrol at the stations and get the toys. This was what happened last year 2014 and knowing my son, his enthusiasm for the Lego toy collection this year would not be any different.

I can still remember last year when I nearly could not get him the last Lego toy collectible- A shell petrol tanker truck. It was an unforgettable experience of God’s love for me and my son. The shell petrol tanker truck was the last toy of the entire Formula1 collectible series and customers have only two weeks to get the toy. The normal requirement to be eligible to purchase the toy was to pump at least S$50 worth of petrol before you can purchase the toy. However, the requirement to be eligible for the last toy changed and I did not read the fine prints thinking it was the same requirement as before. Little did I know, the requirement was not to just pump a minimum of S$50 worth of petrol, but to pump V-Power- Shell’s most premium petrol. I went away disappointed when I was being told by the staff on this new requirement. The only option left for me was to use up my newly pumped petrol before coming again.

After a couple of days, my petrol finally depleted and I happily drove to one of the Shell petrol stations to refill my petrol. “Papa! Remember to pump petrol today ok?” My 6-year old son’s reminder of getting the collectible was always ringing inside my head. I parked beside a pump kiosk in the petrol station and saw a poster on the wall about the toy but this time with a FULLY REDEEMED sticker pasted across it. “Oh NO!!”, this cannot be true. I went into the station to confirm whether the toy is no longer available and indeed, the staff confirmed that their stock was out and told me to try another station. I searched on my GPS to get to the next nearest Shell petrol station. The next one was also the same. “FULLY REDEEMED”. My mind was thinking this could possibly be an island-wide situation. There is no way I am going to get the toy now. To make it worse, I only have enough petrol to try another one or two more petrol station before my petrol runs out.

My mind was racing. I was trying to find solutions. To break my promise to get the toy and see the extreme disappointment in my son’s face would break my heart. Sob. The possibility of getting the toy was so remote that I gave up trying to rely on my own humanly wisdom. My petrol was running out, the only option left for me was to rely on God. I prayed to God, telling him how much my son love him and how he always say he loves Jesus and that He needs to help me get this toy no matter what. Verses from The Word popped into my head to reaffirm my faith and prayer in this matter.

I searched for the next Shell station with my GPS and said, “Lord you are sovereign. I trust in You no matter what!” I drove with renewed confidence and continued to pray along the way. Within minutes, I went into the station and a poster with the words “FULLY REDEEMED” can be seen. However, somehow I just had to step into the shop and confirm with the cashier. The cashier looked at me and said, “The toy is fully redeemed but..” She hesitated for a while and I looked at her with renewed hope expecting her to give me some good news. “…I could give this one to you because a customer reserved this but it’s been three days and he did not come to collect it.” You cannot imagine the joy I had when I received this news. I was so happy I could have hugged her. I quickly accepted her offer lest she change her mind and went away with joy, amazement and awe for what the Lord has done for me. I felt the most amazing part of this all was The Lord already knew that I would come to this particular petrol station and prepared the toy for me way in advance. He opened the cashier’s heart to give up the reserved toy for me.

Our Lord is a Living God and He hears our prayers. Glory and praise be to Him forever and ever. Amen.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Matthew 7:7-11 NIV)

“ ‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” (Mark 9:23 NIV)

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (Romans 8:32 NIV)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7 NIV)

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24 NIV)

Khosrow – From chronic depression to peace and joy

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)

Khosrow was suffering from depression since young. He was desperately seeking God but to no avail. His emptiness was still not filled. He always pass by a church but this time he decided to enter the church as he felt a voice from within the church was calling to him. He went into the church and the preacher passed him the New Testament.

Khosrow read the New Testament many times but he felt his life did not change. He was still feeling depressed. He threw the book to the corner of his room and shouted in disappointment and despair, “If you’re for real, come and speak to me. If not, then get out of my life and let Khosrow be Khosrow!”

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13 NIV)

After his cry out for God, Jesus appeared to him in a vision and said, “Give me your hand and your life will change.” Khosrow did not know who he was. But he felt he was not a stranger, as if he had been with him since childhood. His voice was a familiar voice. Khosrow gave Jesus his hand without fear or hesitation and he had a strange sensation as if a jolt of electricity entered through his fingertips and engulfed in his entire body. He felt that his old self has been broken down and transformed into a new being.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26 NIV)

He started weeping for the first time in many years. All the pain, sadness, anger and hopelessness left him and an everlasting joy entered his heart.

“.. the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”(Galatians 5:22-23a NIV)

After his encounter with Jesus, Khosrow decided to quit his job even though he was offered a promotion and followed his heart’s desire to do the work of God. Although his brother was against his decision, his father defended him and even gave him his blessings! (Praise the Lord!)

For preaching the gospel, Khosrow was persecuted and had to leave the country and seek asylum in Austria. As they were on the way to Austria, they had to cross a powerful river via a tree log. Unfortunately, Khosrow and his toddler son, Joseph fell into the rapid rivers. His mind was frantic and his hands were searching for his beloved son in the dark rapid flowing rivers. Death came to Khosrow and said, “I’ve come to take you with me.. Where is this God you talk about?” Still in the rapids, Khosrow turned towards heaven and said, “Lord, did you bring us to this forsaken place so we would die?” Where did I disobey you? Where did I go wrong?”

After his prayer, he felt that somebody put his son miraculously into his hands. Their smugglers quickly helped them up but were puzzled and could not believe their eyes that he could find his fallen son in the rapids.

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. (Isaiah 43:1b-2 NKJV)

INSTANT Miracle Healing of Broken Leg Bones!

Watch this awesome real-time visible footage of broken leg bones being healed instantaneously. See how the legs receive healing as they tremble from 3:10 onwards when Frank Kasim, 28 years of age, was being prayed for by TB Joshua in the name of Jesus Christ.

Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel. (Matthew 15:30-31 NIV)

Studying Cats, Dogs and God

Heard a chinese sermon sometime back over at FM102.3 Voice of Grace and it has left a deep impression on me. It says when we want to know dogs, we study dogs and not cats. If we want to know more about cats, we study cats. Humans can study dogs and cats because they are visible and we as higher beings are able to study them and gain understanding about them. Can dogs and cats study humans? Can they understand how we build planes? Do they know how we go about making a watch or know what we think and do the things that we do? The answer is no. If so, dogs and cats would be doing research, making inventions, building planes and cars.

fp_dog_cat_God

Similarly, can we as lower beings fully understand our Creator? Can we study our Creator that is not visible, know how He makes the planets, stars, moon, the sun, trees, plants, animals, the sea and everything in it? Can we question the things that He does and doubt His wisdom in the things that He do?

“But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say  to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’ ”Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?” (Romans 9:20-21 NIV)

If we want to know God, we do not study the moon or sun or the stars for these are His creations although they are visible to us. If we need to pursue the knowledge of God, we need to look to God and that is God in the flesh whom is the Son of God- Jesus Christ.

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. (Colossians 1:15-20 NIV)

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (Hebrews 1:3 NIV)

We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20 NIV)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have  seen him.” Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and  that will be enough for us.” Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his  work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. (John 14:6-11 NIV)

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:2-3 NIV)

Thank you God for sending Jesus the Son of God, down to Earth to give us understanding. To become visible for us so that we may know this mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, to know You and be in You.

I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:25-27 NIV)

Tsunami Survivor Hayati shares her testimony on how Jesus saved her and her loved ones

Hayati had a dream the night before the earthquake and in her dream she has built a house but it has no roof which symbolically means no protection.

Suddenly, there was an earthquake in that very morning. She told her husband about the dream she had last night and that maybe this was a sign that many people will die. Then about one minute later, the earthquake stopped. They went outside the house and shouted others to do the same “Let’s get out, let’s get out! Alas, it was not the end. A wave from the sea as tall as two coconut trees was coming onto the land like a dark wooden plank. “Where shall we go?” They all shouted in fear and asked her.

She became so confused and saw a mosque and said, “This is the house of God, let’s all go in!” They all kneeled in the hall and prayed. Hayati said she prayed earnestly like a Christian. She forgot she was a Muslim.

She prayed, “Dear God, dear Lord, please protect us at this time, do not destroy us Oh God! Do not be angry at us. Dear God, forgive us, forgive our sins. Lord Jesus, do not forsake me.” Everyone was chanting “Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus!”

Then the miracle happened. The water stopped about one metre away from the building. When they realised that the water had stopped, they were all crying and everyone believed and was proclaiming that the Lord Jesus had saved them at that time. There was no one else to turn to but Him.

They went up to the mountain after that incident. When the waters receded, they came back down and saw that everywhere around the mosque were bodies. That was when she realised the full meaning of her dream that the house was not ready. There was no roof which means no protection. The village did not have Jesus. Jesus saved her and the people around her for the testimony of the the woman- Hayati, who has Jesus in her heart. As a result, many came to believe in Christ Jesus because of her testimony.

for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13 NIV)
