The significance of the Hebrew letters “Aleph” and “Tav”

The Hebrew letters “Aleph” and “Tav” appeared throughout the Old Testament Scriptures and was not translated or readable. However, if we go back to ancient Hebrew pictograms, something significant can be derived just from the two letters themselves.

Jesus (Ox at the cross) was mentioned in the Old Testament in the first verse of the Book of Genesis that was written probably 1000-2000 years ago before He came to dwell with man and died for our sins at the cross…

Aleph (Alpha in Greek) in ancient Hebrew pictogram is a symbol of an ox (God/leader/strength/sacrifice)

Tav (Omega in Greek) is a symbol of a cross (covenant/mark/sign)

… and Jesus confirms that He is the Aleph and Tav when He says this of Himself in the New Testament in the Book of Revelation 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

Hope you are blessed by this post as you behold Jesus in the Scriptures!

The word “love” in chinese is amazing…

1 John 4:8-9 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

『约翰一书4章8-9节』 没有爱心的,就不认识神,因为神就是爱。神差他独生子到世间来,使我们借着他得生,神爱我们的心,在此就显明了。

Dr Nabeel Qureshi- Did Jesus really rise from the dead?

Dr. Nabeel Qureshi shared this very powerful passage from the Scriptures and the significance of this passage in the lecture.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born. (1 Corinthians 15:3-8 NIV)

This paragraph as in the letter written by Apostle Paul to the Christians in the city of Corinth provides much insight. “..most of whom are still living..” tells us that the letter was written within a generation unlike many history books on historical characters such as Alexander the Great that was only written about 400 years later after Alexander died.

The letter by Paul is therefore very freshly written and can be corroborated by more than 500 Christians whom are still living at the time this letter was written as they too saw Jesus appearing to them. This tells us that this letter can be verified, authenticated and corrected for any inaccuracies during the time of writing.

A strong piece of historical evidence that tells us that Christ has risen and appeared to both Christians and non-Christians namely the writer, Paul himself as he says of himself “as one abnormally born.” (as a person who used to persecute Christians and lock them in prison)

Thank you for this powerful insight Dr. Nabeel! It has certainly strengthened my faith in our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.
